The genesis of K V Gomoh

The genesis of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gomoh, Dhanbad dates back in the year 1988 upto class V with one section to cater the needs of the wards of railway employees in the temporary shade provided by the railway authorities near the railway station. It was funded under the auspices of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous organisation which functions under the umbrella of the ministry of Human Resources and Development. Gradually, one section was added year by year. The school was shifted in new permanent building in February, 2002. The first batch of class Xth board appeared in the year 2000. Teaching of 10+2 in science stream was sanctioned in the year 2002 by sanctioning one section of class XI. In the next year one section of class XII Sc. With Physics, Chemistry, mathematics, Biology was started. In the session 2002-03, second section in each classes of I to X was accorded by KVS New Delhi. From the session 2009-10, one section of XI commerce was accorded by KVS New Delhi. At present the school has 23 sections.
